### Description
    A quantification of the ecological value of polynya regions (AEV) around the continent integrating satellite observations with biological modelling. The data extracted for this analysis is the top 25%, 10% and 5% quantiles of present-day AEV (hemispheric-scale), and the decadal hindcast and forecast hemispheric AEV.
    
### Processing steps

    1.	Download the following files from https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.16990591
        * HotSpotsinIce_DATA\ecoindex\ecoindex_present_day.nc
        * HotSpotsinIce_DATA\ecoindex\ecoindex_historical_future.nc

    2.  Run 02_warp_AEV_presentday.py
        Extracts ecoindex_hemispheric from .nc and outputs as Cloud-Optimised Geotiff in ESPGS:3031 with NoData=-9999
        
    3.  Calculate 75%, 90% and 95% quantiles from AEV index as high-value areas, output as binary raster.
        1 = 75% quantile
        2 = 90% quantile
        3 = 95% quantile

    4.  Run 03_warp_AEV_historical_future_decadal.py
        * Finds the time/decade axis
        * Generates a (temp) 1-band VRT for that slice
        * Reprojects each slice to EPSG:3031
        * Stacks each decadal band into a multiband GeoTiff
        * Writes band descriptions (eg 1980-1990)
