### Habitat suitability predictions for 15 species of cephalopods in the Southern Ocean ### Data downloaded from https://doi.org/10.4225/15/563AC33450A28 on 2026-02-12 Raymond, B., Xavier, J., Griffiths, H., Jones, D. (2015) Habitat suitability predictions for 15 species of cephalopods in the Southern Ocean, Ver. 1, Australian Antarctic Data Centre - doi:10.4225/15/563AC33450A28 ### Processing steps 1. Download all .asc files from https://doi.org/10.4225/15/563AC33450A28 and file in cwd/input/ 2. Run 02_extract_tifs.py * Read all ASCII rasters from input/ * Define the source projection as EPSG:4326 and reproject to EPSG:3031 (bilinear resampling) * Convert NoData values to -9999 * Save each raster as a DEFLATE-compressed Cloud Optimised GeoTIFF in output/ 3. Run 03_combine_species.py * Identifies all species rasters from ASCII files in input/, excluding species_richness.asc * Sums habitat suitability values across all species, ignoring NoData values * Calculate the maximum summed habitat suitability value and rescale valid cells to 0-1 * Save as DEFLATE-compressed Cloud Optimised GeoTIFF: output/allspecies_habitat_suitability.tif
