### Processing steps

    1. Download Iceberg vector outline.zip (Geopackages) and file in cwd/input
    
    2. Run 02_merge_shp.py from cwd
        * Merges 2018–2023 annual boundary GeoPackages and appens observation year
        * Retains valid polygon geometries, outputs single combined EPSG:3031 shapefile

    3. Run 03_create_mean_grid_50km.py from cwd
        * Creates 50 x 50 km resolution COG
        * Writes 6 bands with band descriptions: mean and interannual standard deviation of total iceberg count, total area, and total estimated mass for all icebergs within each cell (across 6 years)

    4. Run 04_create_smoothed_density_grid.py from cwd
        * Creates 10 km resolution COG of combined and annual iceberg density using a fixed 100 km Gaussian smoothing kernel, masked to ocean south of 55°S
